    HOLLINGSWORTH GALLERY

    PRESS RELEASE February 21, 2013

TIME TRAVELS, a retrospective show of paintings by William B. Brant, debuts on March 9 at Hollingsworth Gallery in Palm Coast, FL. Mr. Brant, Professor Emeritus at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston, has been creating oil paintings for more than 50 years. Landscapes, still lifes and crowd scenes dominate the walls, providing glimpses of his evolution as an artist. Commanding use of color, playfulness and universal themes link the paintings into an impressive body of work. Bill comments “As a young man, I put it all in. I loved the goo, the surface and color, delivered with a light-hearted touch. As an older man, I'm taking that out, reducing the work to its basic elements. I want my new paintings to have their primary voice through color, and still be leavened with whimsy.”

    When: March 9, 2013 6-9pm
    ................... Runs through April 1
    Where: Hollingsworth Gallery,
City Marketplace, 160 Cypress Pt Pk, Palm Coast, FL

William B. Brant was born in Indiana in 1932. He grew up in Buckland and Charlemont in rural western Massachusetts and served in the US Navy for four years.
